PRIVACY POLICY

HB Flipbook is a product owned and operated by Heywood & Beaudry Creative Inc., a company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored and disclosed when you use HB Flipbook.

1. Information we collect

Account information

Depending on how you use HB Flipbook, we may collect information such as your name, email address, company or profile information, authentication information and account settings.

Publication information

When you use HB Flipbook, we may store PDFs, publication titles, publication settings, covers, images, logos and other assets that you upload or create as part of your publications.

Billing information

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe.

HB Flipbook does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.

We may retain billing-related identifiers and subscription information necessary to manage your HB Flipbook account.

Lead information

Publishers may use HB Flipbook to create lead forms within their publications.

Depending on how a publisher configures a form, information submitted by a viewer may include:

  • name
  • email
  • company
  • custom fields
  • referring web address
  • browser/device user-agent information

Usage information

HB Flipbook's built-in publication analytics may record:

  • publication viewed
  • page viewed
  • random per-visit session identifier
  • timestamp
  • time on page

HB Flipbook's built-in publication analytics do not currently store viewer geolocation or IP addresses.

2. How we use information

Information may be used to:

  • provide and operate HB Flipbook
  • maintain customer accounts
  • upload, process, publish and display publications
  • process and manage subscriptions
  • provide publication analytics
  • provide lead-capture functionality
  • protect accounts and prevent misuse or fraud
  • provide customer support
  • meet legitimate legal, accounting and security requirements
  • improve and maintain the service

3. Service providers

HB Flipbook relies on third-party service providers to operate parts of the service.

Current major providers include:

  • Lovable / Lovable Cloud
  • Supabase
  • Stripe
  • Google, where Google Sign-In or Google-hosted resources are used

Publishers may independently choose to enable services such as:

  • Google Analytics
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Meta Pixel
  • third-party webhook or integration destinations

Information processed by those services may also be subject to their own privacy policies and practices.

4. International processing

Heywood & Beaudry Creative Inc. is based in Canada, but HB Flipbook uses service providers and infrastructure located outside Canada. Application data is currently hosted using infrastructure in the United States. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.

5. Customer publications and lead collection

HB Flipbook provides publishers with tools that may allow them to collect information from people viewing their publications.

Publishers are responsible for:

  • deciding what information they collect
  • ensuring they have an appropriate reason or authority to collect it
  • providing privacy notices or obtaining consent where required
  • complying with privacy and marketing laws applicable to their organization and audience
  • using exported or collected lead information lawfully

6. Security

We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Retention and deletion

Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide HB Flipbook and meet legitimate legal, accounting, security and operational requirements.

Customers can delete their accounts through the available account controls.

When a workspace is permanently deleted, associated active publication files are removed from active HB Flipbook application storage.

Some information may remain where reasonably necessary, including:

  • Stripe transaction and invoice records
  • provider logs
  • backups subject to provider retention practices
  • information belonging to shared workspaces that continue to be used by other members
  • records required for legitimate legal, accounting or security purposes

8. Access and correction

Customers can update much of their account information directly through HB Flipbook.

9. Cookies and browser storage

HB Flipbook uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies necessary to operate features of the service and measure publication engagement.

10. Artificial intelligence

HB Flipbook does not currently use artificial intelligence services to process uploaded publications, lead information or customer content.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as HB Flipbook evolves. The Last updated date below will reflect material revisions.
